3/29 WOD (Obstacle)

WOD ( For time with one rope climb and swing on tires before each item)
100 m sprint over barbells
100 m run backwards over barbells
50 m  log toss
50 m log run over head over barbells
50 m tire flip
50 m tire roll
10 reps each barbell  ground to overhead  (up to 115 lbs for the guys/ 65 lbs for the ladies)
400 m quad bike ride

This one was fast until you get the 10 rep barbells.  The guys had to do an extra 20 reps which made the workout a bit unbalanced.

Proper Rest and Diet

We issue WODs each day, but everyone should have two rest days during the week.  Sunday and then plus one other day.    

And remember, diet can be as important as exercise.   Eat right.  Low carbs - High protein - no sugar.   Also, you may want to try and take fish oil pills.  Fish oil is safe.  There is a lot of info out that says it is a good natural anti-inflammatory source.  i.e Good for your joints.  Fish oil is the only supplement that I know CrossFit advocates.

Gym Etiquette

Listed below are a few things to keep in mind when you are at Xfit.

1.  Try not to distract other members in the middle of their workouts. Workouts are timed.

2. It is considered rude to stand in front of someone when they are doing a lift.

3. Try not to walk or play in the middle of an active session.

4. Be conscience of other people waiting to start the WOD.    Promptly change and join the group or be sure to inform the trainer that you will start with the next group.

5. Be sure you are not slowing the start of a WOD.  Socialize after the WOD.

6. Put weights and equipment up after the WOD, but be sure everyone in your group has finished.  Also, it is considered rude to leave before everyone has finish the WOD in your group.  

7.  Try to use the changing room and not the bathroom to change clothes in.  I'm working on getting a wall and a door for the changing room.

Specific Schedule of hours

Please view the updated main web site.  You will find a specific schedule of hours on the tab "Get Started/ Schedule".   The main change will be Sat. open time will start at 9:00am and doors should close around 11:00am.   

Also, please welcome Brian Bagly as a part time trainer.  He will help with some training at least once per week in the evenings.   He has a competitive power lifting back ground.

Here is another big one.  12 reps at 115 lbs for 18 mins. looks to be a back breaker.   I might try the ladies weight and box to see if can even get good score on that.   Just shows how much room there is for improvement.  I think I will do this one Monday with a few others so that I can eat a cow over the weekend to prepare.  BrianJ

3/5 Trainer Change Notice

To members,

Susan Terrell is departing from Xfit of Hendersonville, NC.   She was a great fitness asset.  Please give thanks to her for her help in our pursuit of fitness and health.    If you need to contact her, let me know and I will relay your info to her.

The gym will now have an open class time on Sundays at 9:00am until 10:00am.    This will be a premium session time and there will be an additional $4 fee for members.   For non members the total fee will be $15.  This fee will be waved for new people trying Xfit for the first time.

It is possible that the Sunday time be from 1:00pm until 1:30.   I will see what kind of response I get for 9:00 am first.
